The goal of this landscape project was to create a "visual pause"—a space that offers tranquility and a connection to nature within a structured environment. It uses hardscaping (stone paths) and softscaping (plants and lawns) to balance the built form of the house.

1. Key Landscape Features

  • Linear Stepping Stones: Large, rectangular stone pavers set into the lawn create a clean, modern pathway that guides the eye through the garden.

  • Sculptural Flora: The use of specific trees (like the Frangipani/Plumeria) adds a sculptural element to the landscape, especially when uplighted at night.

  • Layered Greenery: A mix of ground covers, lawn, and peripheral shrubs creates a sense of depth and lushness.

  • Outdoor Lighting Design: Strategically placed warm LED spotlights highlight the textures of the trees and pathways, making the garden functional and beautiful after sunset.

  • Transition Zones: The landscape seamlessly connects the indoor living areas to the outdoor environment through large glass openings.

2. Material Palette

  • Hardscape: Basalt or Granite pavers, polished river pebbles.

  • Softscape: Bermuda or Mexican grass, ornamental palms, and flowering tropical trees.

  • Lighting: Warm-white LED spike lights and recessed floor washers.
